METHODOLOGY

How listings get here

PLC & SCADA Jobs is an independent directory of SCADA, PLC, DCS, controls, instrumentation and OT security roles. We currently track 237 open roles from 41 employers; the most recent verification ran on Oct 27, 2026.

Data sources

Listings come from the public job-board APIs that employers publish for syndication through their applicant tracking systems: Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. We read only public postings, identify our crawler as PLCSCADAJobsBot, and space out requests. A small number of listings from employer career sites without an API are checked by hand and labeled with their verification date.

What counts as an industrial automation job

Every posting passes a rules-based classifier. A role is included when its title names a core discipline (SCADA, PLC, DCS, HMI, I&C, OT/ICS security, automation and controls), or when a broader title like “Automation Engineer” is backed up by controls technologies in the description. Software test automation, flight and vehicle controls, project controls and similar look-alike roles are excluded.

Verification and closed jobs

  • Each employer board is re-fetched on a schedule. Jobs still listed are marked verified with the time of the check.
  • When a job disappears from the board, we confirm with the provider where possible. It is marked closed when the provider reports it removed, or after it has been absent on two consecutive successful checks.
  • If an employer board suddenly empties (an outage, not a hiring freeze), we don’t close anything until the board recovers.
  • Jobs we cannot re-verify for 14 days are closed rather than shown as open.
  • Closed roles remain in the archive, labeled closed with the date we recorded it. They carry no job-posting structured data and are not offered to search engines as open opportunities.

Dates and pay

“Posted” dates come from the employer’s job board. When a board doesn’t report one, we show the date we first saw the listing. Pay is shown only when the employer publishes it; we never estimate salaries.
